Our Family Pride provides unique perspectives of how differing family members are affected when a parent comes out gay later in life. The story follows each family member dealing with their individual personal challenges, while coping with and accepting their father’s difficult coming out story.
OFP takes the audience through Jaimie’s personal journey to understand how and why he denied his acceptance of being gay, ultimately resulting in him becoming a husband and father of three. The film goes back in time and tells the love story between Jaimie and his wife (Max) and illustrates the challenges Jaimie faced with his attraction to men and experiences with brutal homophobia throughout his life.
Other difficult life themes are covered throughout the story, including sexual identity, substance addiction, depression, sexual assault, and controversial corporate inclusion and diversity actions.

Creator, Writer, Director, & Executive Producer Glen Evelyn
Glen Evelyn is the writer of Our Family Pride and the founder and CEO of GunnerMAX Productions. He has been a nationally recognized executive leader and consultant who grew up in West Palm Beach. Glen came out in his thirties and married his husband who passed in May of 2023.

After 30 years of working in corporate America, my husband of 17 years passing from a long battle with drug abuse, and personally suffering seven (7) heart failures, I decided to follow my dreams and write a story that could make a difference and help LGBT+ persons with loving and accepting themselves. As such, I filmed a television spec pilot based on true life events that I believe will help people around the world with their own coming out journey.
I spent the first part of my adult life denying my truth and believing that I could control “my choice” and be a heterosexual man. I married to a woman in my early twenties, and worked hard to be the man the world expected me to be- straight, strong, successful.
It wasn’t until my wife left me in my early thirties I came out as gay, later marrying a man, who tragically passed away in May 2023 after years of battling drug addiction. His struggle and our journey together left an indelible mark on me, and it's a wound that fuels this story with raw, unfiltered humanity.
Our Family Pride is a tribute to the many lives caught in the crossfire of societal expectations, and to the families left to pick up the pieces. It’s based on real events and inspired by my own lived experience of coming out late in life, after a marriage, after years of hiding. It’s about what happens when truth is finally spoken out loud, and the beauty and heartbreak that follow.
This story is deeply personal, but it's not just mine. There are countless LGBTQ+ people who come out later in life, many with children, spouses, and entire identities built around who they thought they had to be. These stories are rarely shown on screen, and even more rarely given the compassion, complexity, and dignity they deserve.
As a nationally recognized executive and consultant, I’ve spent my professional life helping others lead. Now, through filmmaking, I want to lead with vulnerability. With OFP, I hope to offer both a mirror and a bridge, reflecting the often-silenced narratives within our community, and helping families, friends, and loved ones better understand and support those who walk this path.
At its heart, Our Family Pride is not just a coming out story. It’s a coming together story. It’s about the love that survives truth, and the strength it takes to live it.
Dominic Giannetti is the founder of Giannetti Films and an award winning director, writer, and producer. With over 30+ years in the entertainment industry, Dominic has produced over 10 feature films and has worked on over 100 professional TV, Movie, and Music video sets. He has helped launch the careers of dozens of professional filmmakers and actors. Currently, Dominic produces at least three feature films a year in South Florida.
